In the end, we’re running late because we meet a family of experienced cyclists : la cyclotribu. It is the opportunity to share and receive good tips. We hope to cross their path one of these days on the cycle paths of France and beyond. Hello to you the cyclotribu if you pass by here !

After packing all our equipment, we go back on our route following the direction of Neuvy, that we already passed by yesterday. Initially, we planned to go through Chambord’s park but a mistake of navigation force us to adapt our route ! We were probably not really awake yet. But, icing on the cake, we have to face a slope which takes us at King Stanislas crossroads ! Well, the day could have started better …

Arriving at the top, King Stanislas crossroads, we don’t take the west direction like before, but the north one toward the Montfrault’s house.

Then, we go on by passing in front of the Montperché’s pond, toward Crouy-sur-Cosson.
All this area is in the forest which is good because we are in the shade, but the paths taken are really stony and not really pleasant, with a lot of slopes as well ! It’s better to have a mountain bike here ! In addition, the mosquitoes are out !

The arrival at Crouy-sur-Cosson is almost a relief because we are back on a surface more suitable, with asphalt.

We go on toward Nouan-sur-Loire on forests paths, but more passable than the last ones.

We are about to arrive at our stopover town for lunch, at Nouan-sur-Loire, and catch a glimpse of Saint-Laurent-Nouan nuclear power plant chimneys far away. We are getting close now !

Smile, there's a nuclear power plant behind you !

When getting to Nouan-sur-Loire, we start looking for a place to have lunch with drinkable water. We find a church next to which are benches in the shade. And also toilets for the water ! Except that these ones are closed, so bad luck. However, we don’t lose hope because just nearby there’s a public water fountain. But once again, we keep turning the handle but no water comes out !
Then finally, when exploring the surroundings, we find a tap of water ! In the cemetery behind the church. At last, we can sit down to eat.

After this stop very … restful, we go back on our route toward Muides-sur-Loire. We take this opportunity to go and see the mill which is just next to the village. It’s a mill “cavier” type “angevin”.

We go on our journey alongside the Loire downstream until Muides-sur-Loire then Saint-dyé-sur-Loire that we start to know quite well : Bicycle ride : Blois, Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire, Muides-sur-Loir.

On the road which takes us to Blois, we bet whether or not we are going to see the mysterious red armchair, remember : Bicycle ride : Blois, Chambord, Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire.
But then, a big surprise is waiting for us, the red armchair has moved ! It has even crossed the Loire on the bank which is on our side ! It is once more a big mystery !

The mystery of the red armchair still remains

After this intriguing minute, we take one last time the road to join Blois under a dark sky. The rain seems to make its appearance once again. Just the time to arrive to our final stop and to put away our equipment, it starts raining ! That was a close one …
